What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is based on the principle of ‘like curing like’ – that whatever can harm you in a big dose, may cure you if given in minute doses.
It uses the principles of nature to help stimulate the body’s own natural healing powers.
What is Homeopathy treatment like?
Homeopathic remedies are specially prepared, highly diluted substances typically in the form of tiny pills, liquid or powder. They are sourced from mainly plants and minerals.
Homeopathy is suitable for…
Homeopathy looks at the person as a whole, rather than specific conditions in isolation. It is suitable for all age groups from infants to the elderly and can be used during pregnancy – although we always advise to consult with your doctor or midwife first.
Homeopathy is often sought when a person may not have responded to other treatments for a specific problem. It can also work effectively alongside conventional medicine to help boost recovery – but always recommend to consult with your GP first.
What will happen at your first appointment?
The initial consultation usually lasts for an hour. This will take details about your medical history, family medical history, and involve discussions about your diet, physical and emotional well-being.
How long does homeopathic treatment take?
This is highly dependent on what condition you have and other contributory characteristics.
A starting point would be to expect to see your homeopath once a month for three months, then beyond this stage you may need follow up appointments at progressively longer intervals as your health improves.
